Description:Palmar erythema Papular and nodular mucinosis The management of pediatric cutaneous LE is dependent on extent of disease. In general, patients should be advised to avoid the sun as much as possible and to employ UV protection at all times. If the disease is localized, treatment with topical corticosteroids or calcineurin inhibitors may be adequate; however, the routine use of hydroxychloroquine in all LE patients, including those with skin-limited disease, is becoming more strongly favored. Hydroxychloroquine has been shown to increase survival and lengthen remission in adults and to specifically reduce the prevalence of renal disease[ 3 , 38 , 39 ].
